Marin ČARGO
Baritone

Marin Čargo graduated in solo singing from the Music Academy in Zagreb, studying under Prof. Martina Zadro. During his academic journey, he was honored with the Dean's Award in the 2017/2018 academic year and received Rector's Awards in the 2015/2016, 2016/2017, and 2019/2020 academic years.

To date, he has performed numerous opera roles at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb: Baron Duphol, Marquis D’Obigny (La traviata), Marullo (Rigoletto), Sagrestano (Tosca), Moralles (Carmen), Sprecher (Die Zauberflöte), Commissario (Madama Butterfly), Fiorello (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Perichaud (La rondine), Benoit (La Boheme), Levi (Nikola Šubić Zrinjski). At the Korkyra Baroque Festival, he performed the roles of Uberto (La serva padrona). He has also performed in concert works: W. A. Mozart (Krönungsmesse, Spatzenmesse), L. Beethoven (Symphony No. 9), J. S. Bach (Weihnachts Oratorium, Selig ist der Mann, Magnificat, Aus der tiefen rufe ich, Herr, zu dir), M. A. Charpentier (Te Deum), Ch. Gounod (Mors et vita), M. Durufle (Requiem), C. Saint-Saens (Oratorio de Noel), F. Schubert (Mass in G Major), G. Faure (Requiem), G. F. Handel (Israel in Egypt), M. Haydn (Requiem).

He refined his skills in a masterclass with Thomas Hampson and at the Laboratoire Lyrique workshop in Luxembourg, under the guidance of Mo. U. Finazzi and director C. Panti Liberovici. He has collaborated with numerous conductors (P.G. Morandi, L. Passerini, E. Boncompagni, I. Repušić, S. Dinić, A. Kalajdžić, I. Hut, S. Krečić, I. Lipanović, I. Šego) and directors (H. de Ana, P. F. Maestrini, M. Pontiggia, K. Dolenčić, A. Bernard). 

He is a member of the Opera Studio of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb.

He is currently in the final year of his doctoral studies in biomedicine at the School of Medicine in Split, where he researches vocal pathology in professional voice users and singing students.
