ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
A unique project
Zadar Organ Festival is the first organ festival in the Zadar area and the only festival of its kind in Croatia that combines organ concerts with interdisciplinary performances. ZOF projects promote Zadar and contemporary artistic tendencies, question traditional frameworks in the experience of the organ and art in general, destroy stereotypes related to the organ, broaden the perception of the expressive possibilities of the instrument and encourage free and creative expression. In its layered structure, it integrates the history of Zadar and its breath through the centuries, and raises the value of insufficiently known Zadar instruments.
Educational mission
Zadar Organ Festival projects are conceived through innovative research and educational approaches. In addition to the concert part held in September, which explores the possibilities of the organ, its repertoire and the possibilities of networking with other artistic expressions, the Festival also organizes an educational part in August. Namely, the Festival offers free interdisciplinary workshops for children and youth where they explore their creativity through music, dance, art, film and photography.

1, 2, 3... 6. ZOF
In September 2024, the concert part of the 6th edition of the Zadar Organ Festival will be held. The rich program includes a number of renowned international and Croatian artists, who will perform at several locations in Zadar and Zadar County. With a comprehensive and broad approach to festival projects, the new edition of the festival strives to find its place among the great world festivals, raising the artistic reputation of the ancient city. Digital corner
Zadar Organ Festival recognizes the potential of the digital world in which we live. By building profiles on various social networks, it expands its audience beyond local borders and connects artists with the whole world. Adapting to the digital age, the concerts of the second and third editions of the festival are available on ZOF's YouTube channel, as well as clips from subsequent editions.

An open-air organ? Let’s see that happening!
From August 2021, Zadar Organ Festival is proud of its new partner - the Dutch organ workshop MIXTUUR ORGELS. It is a portable three-manual electric organ that helps the Zadar Organ Festival in its endeavor to break the established stereotypes attached to this powerful instrument.
